You signed up for this years ago when you were young. The amount of people who have come from all over the globe to see this is filling you with a radiant energy you can’t wipe away from your face.
The tournament, and the chance to wrestle its champion Danesmund the Overhand, are why you moved from the easier life outside these fortified walls into an apprenticeship with a master blacksmith in town.
Though you prefer a barehanded brawl over weapons any day, the gig as a blacksmith’s apprentice was all you could find. You managed to fit right in with the group, so it’s been a great learning experience. Yet you still pine for more in life.
This is your best chance to break free of the hammer and anvil and feel the heat of hand to hand combat! In a ring! With the entire castle watching! This could change everything for you. Your dream of wrestling your days away as a champion is a few hours away.
You know you have a good shot at winning since locals are placing bets on you favorably after seeing you train after a full day’s work at the forge. Not just any locals, famous gamblers known for winning streaks have faith in you, showing they’ve done their diligence in studying all the wrestlers.
You arrive and get to the dressing area. The air is tense and people are running around shouting worriedly. You’ve just run into a huge obstacle between you and your forever wrestler dream. The Overhand (named after his signature finishing move) is missing, along with two other wrestlers! No one can find them.
You learn that this isn’t like them to be late for any event. Rumors are whispering of a kidnapping. The three champions were here at dawn and have gone missing in broad daylight, albeit in a bustling city full of tourists. Yet you wonder how three of the toughest fighters ever to live on this world could miss this day honoring their lifelong mastery of the ring? They wouldn’t, not if they love wrestling the way you do.
Are you going to let a few of your missing peers ruin your chance at becoming a Global Champion, no, THE Global Champion of Wrestling, or are you going to find them and get them in the ring?
