☾ Your quest brings you deep into unknown lands, where a dark castle, surrounded by storm clouds, fog, and an air of doom, awaits you.
☾ It doesn’t appear to have an entrance, so you and your friends head back to the nearest village to gather information. The villagers there appear to be so scared that most won’t even speak of the castle’s very existence.
☾ One merchant speaks up. Tucked away in the shadows at the edge of the market, you hear his grim voice croak out to you, beckoning you near.
☾ “You have nice gear, adventurer. If you want to enter the castle, use moonlight. The castle is influenced by the phases of the moon. The moon is part of its power, and it is part of the moon.”
☾ You see the silver threaded black veil drop from the merchant’s face briefly enough to realize that you are conversing with an undead merchant!
☾ “So, you’re heading in there eh? So brave like the rest heh heh haha!” He cackles.
☾ “Would you like to purchase any of the wares I’ve collected from the many previous ‘brave’ wanderers that have breached that castle’s walls? I think some of these rare trinkets will help you make it further than they did.”
☾ You see a truly odd collection of weapons and magic items surrounding the undead being, and the piles of holy relics, poison blades, dusty spellbooks, rare armor, and other oddities have one thing in common. The merchant hasn’t had time to clean the previous owners’ death off of them.
☾ The merchant pulls from a long handled pipe, exhaling a cloud of purple smoke that moves like nothing you have ever seen before. He patiently awaits your response.
☾ So, how will you proceed?
1. Buy items before heading to the castle.
2. Ask the merchant about his undead condition.
3. Call your friends over to this undead merchant so they can see his wares.
4. Ask for more details about the castle. Requires a charisma check.
5. Leave.
